HVA Stats is finally shutting down. What started at a joke in my friend group quickly grew into a massive website that I saw strangers looking at during class. Managing HVA Stats has genuinely been really fun and the highlight of my high school years. I remember hearing people discuss who they thought ran HVA Stats during homeroom, it was really funny.
I remember at some point during the 2023-2024 school year there were 2,000 people on hvastats.com at once during an evacuation and that was really mindblowing to me. I made this website as a joke but I've received emails from parents saying they were super greatful they had a way to track what was going on at their children's school. It was really nice to know that my random joke website actually helped people.
After I made this website as a joke for my friends, a few days passed and my brother sent it to our family group chat without knowing that I had made it. That's how I found out that the website had somehow gotten popular in just a few days.
Also, shoutout to the time Carly Harrington reached out to me to tell me I had to change the site's logo. Legally speaking, she was wrong, but I did do it anyway.
Also, if you/your company needs a website or any sort of dev work done, reach out to contact@aaronsharp.dev 😉
